Last weekend was a blessed one for all of us in Philadelphia. Pope Francis spearheaded the World Meeting of Families that garnered the participation of millions of visitors from around the world. It was truly a joyous event!
Prior to his arrival, Mrs. Grainer and Mrs. Diffendal came to our classroom to talk about Pope Francis and the importance of his visit to our city. The children were particularly interested in where he lives and the languages he speaks. They even showed us a cross, which the children noticed in many places including the roof of our building(it is a church!). They even brought a flag of the Vatican City, which many children drew several times later on.
The visit of the parents to our classroom made quite an imprint on the children.
