It was surprising that one day last week it didn’t rain. Instead, we had a pleasantly sunny and warm day. So we took that opportunity to garden, planting the bulbs and the seeds we had prepared to plant. The children really enjoyed planting marigolds, parsnips, thyme and sage. They were very interested in the plants they were planting and in the earthworms they discovered. The elementary children helped with tilling soil and pulling weeds. They are especially excited about the parsnips that they will harvest in the fall. They can’t wait to taste them!
We would like to thank the volunteer parents and grandparent who took one sunny morning off and helped our children have this gardening experience. Thank you!
