On Thursday, I talked to some parents about nutrition at a Coffee and Conversation. This talk was a very interesting one, with many questions asked and different ideas shared. We talked about what food is healthy for children, how to focus your energy on cooking wholesome food with your children, and reading ingredients labels with them so that they can learn what is actually in the food they eat. We discussed how important it is for children to make their own lunch with their parents’ supervision, and this process starts by taking them to the grocery store and picking out healthy food together. We talked about staying informed when new information comes out about food and how to find alternatives to processed, sugar- and sodium-rich food. It was such a good discussion that I decided to put a link to my notes here on this blog. Enjoy!
