The children visited the Audubon Center today and learned a great deal about owls and birds in general. We meet two very special owls, “Sammy”-a screech owl and “Sitting Bull” a-horn owl, that each came to the center under sad conditions but now are living a life of care. The children learned what it was like to be an owl and how special molting is for the birds. They also learned about their lifestyles, and that one of the owls has created a friendship with a wild owl outside of the center by sharing its’ food. The children also saw swallows and how they catch their food in the air while flying. This is a wonderful place to go as a family activity anytime.
