January was a busy month for our students. They returned to school from their holiday break with a lot of excitement and eagerness to get started again with working in the classroom.
Many of the students are working very hard with their math skills. These included wonderful lessons for recognizing numbers and their quantities for our younger students, such as sandpaper numbers, number rods, and spindle boxes.
Our older students are more engaged with work for understanding the operations of addition and subtraction with a variety of advanced skills, including golden bead work, snake games, strip boards, and the stamp game to name just a few.
Parent Information Night
We would like to thank all the parents who attended our Parent Information Night. We hope you enjoyed the lesson demonstrations from our teachers and the tour of the Primary and Elementary classrooms. The staff at Valley Forge Kinder House are always willing to help assist our parents in learning more about Montessori. If you have any questions about your child’s lessons and their purpose, please do not hesitate to contact us. We also hope you had a wonderful time watching and learning from your child’s lessons as they too demonstrated their newly found skills.
