Last month we were delighted to have our friendly neighborhood firefighters come and visit our school. Their big red fire trucks were surely the highlights, not to mention those big long ladders that we wished they extended up in the sky. They brought 2 trucks – the tanker truck and the ladder truck – both very important in carrying water and reaching up to high buildings. They showed us the special tools and gears they use to help put fires out. They are all found in special places in the truck, making them accessible to the firefighters when needed. Not only were the children excited, they were also very curious. They had so many questions for the firefighters, which they gladly obliged. They asked about the axes, their firefighter suits and how long the hoses are. But the most exciting moment for the children was getting on one of the big spacious trucks.
Thank you for coming! Hope to see you again next year!
