Last weekend, the teachers had the pleasure of sharing this experience once again with VFKH parents. Friday evening, we began with the “silent part” of our workshop. The teachers had set out materials in the primary and elementary rooms as they would be if the children had chosen the work. The parents were asked to silently walk through the rooms, and then we discussed our impressions and reactions to the rooms. Very interesting.
Saturday is the ‘discovery’. The parents went into the rooms and could choose work just as their children do. The guides/teachers were available to give presentations and to help as they would the children. The parents understood that they were to find the answers to their questions through their own experiences. What a great group of explorers! Just as we delight in the children’s ‘Ahha ‘moments, we were thrilled to see the parents experience some of those same emotions.
Check out the photos to see the wonderful ‘children’ with whom we shared the Journey!
