Last week, Dr. Becky Ehrlich, DVM, an expert on bearded dragons, visited the Elementary class. She was a fun and exciting guest to have! She was very dynamic with the children and they all enjoyed the information she shared with them about Larry’s diet, habitat, and overall care. One very interesting thing to note is that Larry is actually a female bearded dragon! But we will continue to call her Larry. The students love Larry very much and are eager to make the changes to help her feel more comfortable. Based on Dr. Ehrlich’s suggestions, the class will focus on feeding Larry more leafy greens and other assorted vegetables, getting her a bigger tank, and making sure her habitat resembles Australia, where bearded dragons are from. Dr. Ehrlich told the students that Larry is a very healthy bearded dragon and affirmed that the class taking very good care of her. This was quite reassuring to the students! What a wonderful experience for them!
