Established in 1977, VFKH is an independent private school educating children utilizing the Montessori Method. We are proud to be accredited by Association Montessori International (AMI), which was founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain the integrity of her life's work. Our two campuses, located in Limerick and Phoenixville, Pa, serve the Royersford, Collegeville, and Audubon areas. We offer a quality private school education for your preschool, kindergarten, or elementary age child.
We have programs for preschool children ages 2½ through 6 years old and elementary grades 1 through 6. Our environment nurtures your child within an individualized learning framework. Besides Language, Math, Geometry, Cultural Studies and Geography, the children also work with activities that develop and strengthen their muscular coordination, motor skills, and concentration, as well as enhance their sensory awareness. VFKH students also have many opportunities to develop their social skills.
Children leave our Montessori program with strong, fundamental academic skills. Statistics show Montessori children continue to excel through their academic years.
Did you ever sleepover at school?
Our Primary graduates did! Last Friday, all of our graduates headed to our Limerick campus to play, eat, do crafts, and have lots and lots of fun! Our primary classroom teachers also spent the night camped out (in a classroom) with the children. The grads from Phoenixville and Limerick had a great time getting to know each other, one even asked the others if they thought we should do it again on Monday! Thank you to all our parents who gave us a chance to spend this special time with our graduates before they head off to 1st grade!
Thank you Grandparents & Special Friends!
Last week we had an AMAZING time sharing our classrooms with our grandparents or special friends. Our students loved being able to sing to all our guest, and show them all the hard work we do in our classrooms. The elementary has been studying the Middle Ages and were able to share some of the fascinating things they learned with their grandparents, in addition to their daily work. Our primary students were able to show the wide variety of work that occurs in the classroom.
Thank you so much to everybody who made the effort to join us for this event! We can't wait to do it again next year!
We love Spring here at VFKH Montessori. Flowers are blooming everywhere, Easter is around the corner, and the sun even decides to visit every once in a while. One of the many benefits of the Montessori environment and curriculum is that when the children are inspired by aspects of these events the teachers can take it and run. For example, Mrs. Peters' afternoon class dissected, labeled, and created books about flowers. Not only did they have a great time but they had a lesson on nature/science and worked on their penmanship and writing skills. What a great inspiration and gift Spring gave them!
Visiting the local Police & Fire Station
The elementary class toured the Phoenixville Police and Fire Stations today. What an inspiring experience! Police Chief Mossman personally invited the Elementary class after touring our school while checking the security of local schools. The Chief was impressed with our school's security and with our Elementary class! What a wonderful invitation!
