An activity consisting of two color-coded boxes each of which has a
set of six wooden cylinder shakers. When these cylinders are shaken
they produce sounds varying in intensity from loud to almost
imperceptible sounds. At first the student is to recognize sounds of equal
intensity with the two sets of cylinders in pairs. Then another
exercise involves the student using one set to compare the six cylinders in a series from softness to loudness.
